Lincoln, CA - On Thursday, November 16, 2017 Lincoln residents received 400 free coats, sweaters and jackets at the Lincoln Better Living Center at 600 McBean Park Drive.
This is the second year that the Placer Benevolent Foundation and the Lincoln Better Living Center joined efforts to offer this free service to community residents. Individuals from a number of other local churches also helped out.
“This is really a community event,” says Lynne Moreau, who organizes the community outreaches of the Lincoln Better Living Center. “People from so many walks of life have come together to make this a reality.”
In 2016, 63 people received coats and other clothing to help them stay warm through the chilly winter months. Each person also received a hand-crocheted hat.
The annual coat drive grew out of the free monthly clothing give-away also coordinated by the Placer Benevolent Foundation and the Lincoln Better Living Center.
Individuals who wish to donate clothing may do so at the Lincoln Better Living Center at 600 McBean Park Drive on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10-12 a.m. Or call Lynne Moreau at 916-667-1215.
The Lincoln Better Living Center is a community service of the Lincoln Amazing Grace Seventh-day Adventist Church.
