Afghan Refugee Project

Published: March 9, 2022Updated: September 16, 2022

Over the past year, we have had the privilege of becoming friends with several families in our local Afghan community. Our hearts have been heavy as we’ve seen the turmoil in Afghanistan this last year. We’ve prayed a lot for our Afghan friends and their families safety.

So we were thrilled when a number of their family members were able to escape the Taliban takeover in August. Since then, we’ve been doing what we can to help them get resettled in their new homes in California.

We have been working together with the Paradise, Grass Valley, and Roseville Seventh-day Adventist Churches to help provide the refugees with their basic needs for food, furniture, transportation, and work. We are also working with the Northern California Conference Community Services’ Refugee Ministry.

Our goal is to continue to support these families and the larger Afghan refugee community in the area.
